I saw some movies recently.  Juno.  Great soundtrack, recommend you see it - the movie too.

Dont see mist, if you saw it, not good.  I’m glad lorin paid, i think i wrote about this earlier if not again it is here.  (grammatically correct, did you notice)

National Treasure, less hokey than the last.  Good, funny.  Smart?
i dont know how i feel about these movies in the timing of the divinci code, either way it is a good movie.  So how is top hanks going to land the jump out of the helicopter at the end of angels in demons.
Golden Compass.  Strong.  Not sure how the christian left feels about this but i think they are suppose to be on the right anyways.

If anyone saw charlie Wilson war. let me know if it is good. Looks like it could be.  Thinking of tom hanks future movies has anyone see the original Farenheit 451, amazing.  Update Charlie Wilson’s War is great.
ps. i love you - also looks strangely appealing.  UPdate: Saw it was ok

Universal HD had Marathon of robo cop 1,2,3.  I dont understand how three was so much better than two.  Amazing, what were they think with robo cop 2.

Love in the Time of Cholera

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

The movie in a theater near you is our theater Thursday movie of the Week. The movie love in the time of Cholera is a condensed version of the book. Again like usual the movie is better than the book. F-U to the hippies that think the inverse is true. Its like being injected with the experience. Yes you lose important aspects of the story, but the narrator would probably lose his voice if he had to run through the entire book.

Regardless of everything the movie was good in its amount of naked women. The book definitely had its share, the plot might have been more clear in the book, but the women where described much more clearly in the Movie. For instance in the Brothel the breasts where given full rein of the screen, having only a side note in the book, the variety being the true skill of the camera.

Seriously though, movie is not bad, when he is a boy and it jumps to the future. Its hard to realize that it was the same guy if you had not read the book. A bit chop at times it does hold to the essence of the story.

The movie did lack the longing that we all so desired in the book of the week.

true story
Six years ago i began to tell somebody or probably several people my favorite movie was snow falling on cedars.  I watched it for the first time tonight.

Back at OU the campus movie channel was playing it and every time it was on, my favorite movie,  the movie guide said it was snow falling on cedars.  Now that i have finally scene the movie this story isnt that embarrassing.

So just in case i ever recommended snow falls on cedars with great vigor and you didnt like it, i’m ok with that, oops my bad. Not my favorite but not bad either.

I do have to say that the movie that i thought was snow falling on cedars is still my favorite movie, and definitely think you should check it out.
It was the scene with the guy standing in the night snow fall that made the title transferable.

If its an orange call it an orange.  Bloody Zen Buddist monks, always asking what this is…And the Tibetan monk asks, what has he never seen an orange.

This 1966 maroon Ford Galaxie 500. You drivin’ this car?
I think maybe we’re missing the point.
It seems to me James’ strength as a writer is that
he doesn’t take us by the hand. He treats us
like adults. He respects us enough to forget
us. That takes . . . courage .

Well put, Hannah. And a good note to end on, I
think.
(as the students rise)
Don’t forget about WordFest this weekend. And
remember: those of you driving V.I.P.s to
tonight’s cocktail party need to have them at
the Chancellor’s house no later than 5:30.
