Cliff Notes

Norman Mailer - “Writing books is the closest men ever come to childbearing.”

Alright, Love in the time of Cholera comes out in another week and a bit.  I most likely will see it.  The book caused this terrible longing which wouldnt go away, perpetual, i actually realized that i felt comfortable in its overwhelming blanket.  Comfortable longing, no risk of loss.

Looking back at the four main characters well five.
You got the buddy, the Woman he loves, her dad and the doctor she marries.
The buddy wants to be with the Woman
Her dad says no and takes her away.
The Woman keeps up with the buddy.
Then she sees the buddy, wosh- slip away
Then a similarity to midnights children except without the sheet
The doctor attends the woman
Likes what he finds
the Womans’ dad works his magic again only in the opposite way he did with the simple buddy.
She says hell no, then they finally go
The buddy miserable as can be
Sleeps with all the women outside of his brothel
for a long time.
The doctor and Woman come back from Europe with babies.
happy as can be
doc sleeps meets this woman he cant pass up.
so he goes for it
Woman goes to visit family
doc brings her home
The End
The buddy did get a mirror as a consolation.

The moral of the story is that if you keep your gaze of love set on one who passes up your chance, you gain a perpetual sweater of longing.  You find yourself attempting to replace the sweater with the comfort of woman after woman however none will ever be as snug.

So lets be daring and say two people can be made for each other.  Their quality of life increases and they become better individuals through one anothers company.  They both have complete faith, respect, attraction, intimacy with one another.

At some point its a pure numbers game. If you think of all the souls in the world,  two souls finding each other and matching up is very good probability.  The quality of that match, well thats another story.  Now at a certain level souls have a much higher selectivity.  Lessons dont need to be revisited, previous mistakes have been changed.  Karmic Debt paid, The realization that we made the choice to experience this experience.  Sartre is probably happy if he is reading this.  So we play this match game.

Different Levels,

The match game
Attraction - Sexual, fluidity, grace, physical health
Respect - forthright, intellect, flexible, motivation
Social - hobbies, friends, sports, animals, places
Intimacy - Ability to cross lines, break social mores
Financial - Stability, Ability and Growth Potential
Faith - Open, Common belief system/practices

At least its more sophisticated than playing war, more like go fish.

First Law of Thermodynamics  (Conservation of Energy)

I turn up my a/c so that it is so cold in my apartment that you wont be able to sit by your pool.

Yeah, if that doesnt work, i’m going to build a huge green house and run the exhaust from the a/c to your pool.

My question, is what would happen in Florida and Arizona if everyone stopped pressuring the air in and out of their houses?  Heat waves would decrease in longevity?  What the fuck, where is the truth?

I watched, if only.  Like it, didnt understand the six months later thing at the end.  Just end it.  I dont know, forward thinking could have changed the happenings of these stances.  Jennifer love does look strangely good in this film, the music, at times is mutable.

Conversations with other women - Seriously a good movie, rooftop scene i might dare to say is right up there with the coffee scene from meet joe black.  Its a bit cheesy and cliche overall, however the first half of the roof scene is amazing.

Quotable
man to women,”you are 38 and you look it”

women,”fuck you”

man,”right and next year you are 39 and then 40 and after 40 you may as well die.”

women,”thanks”

Man,”if the cardiologist is…decides you are too old and decrepit and ugly to be at all lovable i am available to tolerate you in your golden years.”

women,”thank you”

To be a goose
written by james spada

Wouldnt it be great
to sit by the pond.

Wouldnt it be great
to walk in the grass

wouldnt it be great
to float in the pond

wouldnt it be great
to lie all around

I want to be a
Duck!Duck!Duck!!

maybe
even one of the geese.

Practical Magic

Under the radar, This movie is simply delightful.

Sandra Bullock is sexy in forces of nature and the lake house, but i think her role in this film shows her natural beauty, so sexy.  Nicole Kidman, counter balances the film nicely, as a firery energetic wreck.

The cursed witches and a sweet fairy tale theme in the background of an average small town.  What else could we ask for besides the hope of a happy ending with the balanced sweetness of a Bartlett pear.

Snake

I could never date a lady who was a vegetarian.  When i was in china i ate snake because it was served to me and got deathly sick because my body wasnt used to eating snake.  If your going to be a world traveler you have to eat meat.
