Microsoft responds to Firefox 3
Wednesday, June 18th, 2008After the success of the firefox 3 release yesterday Microsoft has decided to release IE7 .
Later today Microsoft will announce that they are moving away from IE6 and are going to encourage their users to move to IE7. This is going to be a great day for the CSS community as well as the boys and girls stuck behind corporate standards that up until now are only allowed to have IE6 on their work computers.
This is also a good step for Microsoft since many popular sites such as Reddit have stopped supporting IE6. Microsoft is taking the stand against letting their death star fall to disarray against the attacks of firefox. This step to standardizing IE7 will in the very least allow all IE users to hit control+t and get a new tab instead of having to opening a new window.
The real winners in all of this are the developers, and organizations like SavetheDevelopers.org.
